Lincoln "L" Technical Questions

Next Chapter: Piston Removal
Author Last Post
Nice job Jeff, and you are very fortunate if you do not have a large scored cylinder wall or pieces that went nowhere good. You may want to use a micrometer/gauge and check the crankshaft journal. But I think you should be able pull it off with what you are planning.

Between a job, kids, other projects I may or may not have volunteered for, my progress must seem excruciatingly slow to most of you! But I haven't given up, believe me. I finally overcame my fear of the unknown and attacked the piston removal. It actually went pretty well. I was also pretty shocked when I saw what was left. A testament to the Lincoln engineers in my opinion!

The cylinder looks good. Maybe a small scuff that I'll try to show later. I was planning on just honing it a bit and hopefully finding a NOS piston and rings, and stick it back together and roll down the road. I would love to get some input on this.

Yes, I feel incredibly lucky to have not had a major problem. I figure I drove anywhere from 200-700 miles with it like this.
