Metal chunk in engine
Author Last Post

Just to be certain, you should look at the cam under the broken lifter. Take a light an perhaps a mirror to look down thelifter hole. The roller appears to have been jammed for some time, looks like it has been running partially on the edge of the cam.

SO I pulled the lifters and this is what I found.
Jeff,

They look solid to me not hydraulic.
Interesting. That's a bummer but glad you found it. The lifters look like they are solid, but I had heard that they were hydraulic.  Which are they?
Can anyone tell me if the lifters are the same in the 33 KA engine or did the valve train change as well as many other things? Thanks in advance.
Greg Bilpuch helped me get a replacement from Brian Harlamoff. Thanks guys
Anybody have a lifter they can photograph for me?
Hi

I dropped the oil pan and the mesh screen above and found this lump of metal any ideas what it is and where it came from?

I am having trouble turning the crank with the starting handle, all I get is a clinking noise as the starting handle goes around!

Thanks,
Mick
